We are the first in the world to bring together such a partnership between on-demand, financial and ecommerce services - creating an ecosystem that will continue to solve problems and address daily needs for more people. We have continued to build out our platform of over 20 services, developing a hyperlocal mobility network that addresses a range of daily needs across Southeast Asia a network that is so much more impactful and valuable by combining with an ecommerce market leader like Tokopedia. We have come a long way since then, and have consistently held onto the focus of problem-solving and bringing about greater convenience and accessibility to consumers. There were more opportunities for them to earn income (such as with delivery), while consumers could enjoy greater convenience – a win-win situation for everyone. We saw that they could be a solution for the commuters in Jakarta who were spending too much time in debilitating traffic, while recognizing that they could also do more than just transport people. We have held that belief from day one, where we saw that Gojek (motorcycle taxi) drivers could be empowered to have a bigger impact on society-at-large, changing urban living for the better. We were founded on the realization that we could better utilize the informal sector to reduce life’s daily frictions for people in Indonesia.
